Facebook, Texting, and Class

The items I decided to abstain from today are Facebook, and texting. Bad choice! Not because it is ridiculously difficult or anything- the opposite is true. This challenge was too easy, and in an embarrassing way. I only received one text measly message today. ONE MESSAGE! So naturally it wasn’t even difficult not to text people back. The only time I was tempted to initiate text message conversations were to ask my roommates about our plans for this weekend. I just waited until they got home and asked them. Easy peasy.

The one activity I didn’t plan on abstaining from was attending class. I played hooky today, and skipped Spanish class. I’m probably skipping writing a paper today too. It is due in twenty minuets, and I haven’t even done the reading that it is based on. We are allowed to drop a paper, so I guess this is it! Yippee skippy.

What did I learn from these experiments?

1. It isn’t worth it to abstain from texting, because I hardly ever text anyway. And when I do it isn’t conversational, it is business.
2. Facebook abstinence doesn’t really change my life either.
3. Skipping class is fun- being a slacker is too. However the fun is only momentary and slight anxiety attack that results lasts a little longer.

The extreme emotion I am feeling right now shouldn’t be confused as a result of this experiment. It is probably coincidental rather than causational.

I was going to text you but I knew you were off of it. I'm glad you can still function with limited technology though :-)
