Ragnar Runnin

I forgot to write about ragnar. I did it! I ran 20 miles. The first 7 miles were in Logan, and I didn't walk even once! It was a great accomplishment for me. The next 8.3 miles were down a mountain. I held a 8.3 min/mile pace! Fast. I did walk a little bit though...The last 5 miles were death. I was so tired, they felt more like 20 miles in and of themselves. I was quite slow, and walked quite a bit. It was also quite early in the morning. The whole weekend was quite exhasting. But we did luck out and get a few hours of peaceful sleep in a high school auditorium. I will treasure those hours always. Our team finished the 191 miles in about 34 hours I think. We could have done better, but everyone on our team was injured or dying. Becca had a stress fracture in her foot, Richard didn't even start training until the week before and didn't own a real pair of running shoes so his knees were shot after the first leg, Jon had a foot injury, etc. Uncle Tom was inspiring though. I am so impressed that he did it, and didn't complain once. I hope that when I'm his age, I can do stuff like Ragnar. By the time I got back to Provo Saturday night, I thought I would never be energized again. I was quite worried about starting EFY the next day. Sunday I woke up for church, and was nearly in tears my body was so tired. In church I was a total loon, yet I had to conduct relief society. Nbd. :) After church I did get to take about a 2 hr nap before going to check in for EFY, and when I woke up I wasn't sore at all, and I felt completely rested. Totally a tender mercy! I never was sore, and I felt great for the whole week. My knee is a little weird from the whole thing, but I figure if I just don't run for the rest of summer, I'll be fine. So that is my plan. No running allowed.
